What is a WBS?

Let's say you want to make a beautiful drawing for your whole wall. That's a pretty big task. So, to make it easier, you might break it down into smaller parts. First, you might draw the sky, then you'd draw the trees, then the animals, then the flowers, and so on.

Each of these parts is a piece of the picture you're drawing. Similarly, a WBS, or Work Breakdown Structure, is a way to break down a big project into smaller, manageable parts. Each piece is a task that needs to be completed to finish the whole project.

It's like making a list of all the things you need to do to finish your big, beautiful drawing. It helps us see what work needs to be done and makes handling the project much more manageable.
