What is project management?

Imagine you're building a big Lego castle. You can't just start sticking Legos together randomly. You'd need a plan. You'd have to think about how many Lego blocks you need, what types, and what colors. You'd also need to think about how long it will take you to build it and if you need help from your friends or family.

Let's pretend you're in charge of this big Lego project. You have to make sure everything happens in the proper order, at the right time, and with the right pieces. So, you'd have to make a plan of what needs to be done, make sure you have all the right pieces, and decide who will help you build different parts of the castle. Then, you'd have to check regularly to make sure everything is going according to your plan. If something isn't working, you'd have to find a solution and change the plan.

That's a lot like what a project manager does! They're in charge of making sure a project (just like our Lego castle) gets done right, on time, and within the resources they have. The project could be anything - building a real castle, creating a new video game, or even sending a rocket to the moon!
